Well, it's been a while since I've updated Clifford's build - for a number of reasons. The best one is that George and I have both picked up a lot of work this summer and we're super busy, and thank goodnes because we've also been purchasing quite a few Jeep parts!
We've also had some issues with some of the parts we've ordered and received - a couple things needed to go back or were missing parts. We ordered a Free-Spin Hub Conversion Kit from Randy's Ring & Pinion (used to be mfd. by Warn), and Randy's has been jacking us around for 3 weeks. The kit contained stub shafts that were poorly machined; the U-Joints wouldn't fit (as George found out after wasting 2!!!), so those went back, not to mention wrong washer clips, which we had to PURCHASE the correct ones separately. Needless to say, we don't much recommend Randy's Ring & Pinion for quality or service at this time. Still waiting on the stub shafts. A couple weeks ago George installed new Rancho 9000 Adjustable Shocks in the front. They really improved the ride. And, in his spare time, George sealed the front wheel wells; you could literally see the door hinges after the factory plastic inner wheel wells were removed and the fenders were cut. Here's George's roofing experience at work; he used black roof primer (Home Depot) and the webbing he gets from his distributer, Armor Coat. He uses these materials as you would papier mache or fiberglass, layering it in and forming it to shape: Looking up: He used 2 coats of web and primer, and painted the entire wheel well with the primer for a nice factory look: Here's the goods: That's it for now - will update when the BIG PROJECT finally gets off the ground! d
