Hi everyone,
When I got home from Canyonlands NP and weeded through my emails I discovered that I won the 7 Bar Grille Recipe Contest! There's a nice write-up in the 7 Bar Grille monthly on-line publication: http://7bargrille.wordpress.com/ and an announcement in the latest issue of JPFreek Magazine on page 124. To view the new issue of JPFreek Adventure Magazine, please visit the following web link as this is the only way you'll be able to view JPFreek as a grandfathered subscriber to the magazine: www.jpfreek.com/current/Fall09.html If you give my recipe a try let me know how you like it!! d

Cool, my prize for winning the Recipe Contest arrived the other day! It's a very handy cutting board from epicurean and a can of Swamp Stopmin Bayou Spice!
The cutting board is perfect for packing in my camping kitchen kit; it's 12x9" and super light. It's made from recycled cardboard, and yet it provides a good hard surface for chopping or setting a hot item, AND it's dishwasher safe! How cool is that? Oh, and though I rarely boil food on the trail, I may start doing that now; you can use it as a strainer since it has drain holes. We tried the Swamp Stopmin Bayou Spice on cube steak (tenderized round steak) and it made that cheap cut of beef taste delicious. Tonight we're cooking a whole chicken on the grill with the spice on it. So far it smells Yumm-O! I'm thrilled! d
