Default Seven Springs Area Rhino Trip Apr. 19, 2010
Bob (wrightone) and his friend Rich took me out to the Seven Springs area on Rhinos Tuesday. We headed toward Seven Springs and then turned off right after Humbolt Mt., went up a dirt road about 5 miles, and then made another right hand turn onto a rarely travelled over-grown road. We took that road as far as we posibly could; went through some washed-out & off-camber sections. We ended up on a mesa north of Humbolt Mountain. We walked the mesa and found two ruins, pottery shards and an unusual looking matatti (sp?). On the way back there was a slight mishap; Rich flopped his Rhino in a ditch. It was my first flop. Bob and I flew into action: I drove Bob's Rhino into the ditch and winched Rich's Rhino back onto it's wheels. After we got the equipment upright, we retraced our tracks, and went to check-out a jasper mine & out-cropping. From there we headed home. Turned out Rich was okay after his wreck, a few tylenol & sleep made him feel better. To me it was kind of funky driving a Rhino; they're so narrow that it makes it way tippy compared to a Jeep!
